Does Any One Feed Thier Quail Cat Food?

One suggestion, find a thread on here with "in depth discussion" about this very subject (concerning chickens, that is).......print it out, and casually approach him/her with the printout, and say:

"Hey neighbor, ya know what, according to these folks on this massive forum (that happens to be the go-to place for anything we wanna know about raising poulty the right way

, feeding this cat food to our chickens is a bad thing..................."

my russian tortiose used to sneak in cat food all the time she loves it so eventually i bought her a huge cage and kept her away from the cat food. sorry randmomness...i know.
but i do have a question relevent to this!
i have 2 large goldfish who loves eating insects and i buy them what are known as "zoo med canned bugs" they are cooked in cans mainly for reptiles just bugs theres snails, meal worms, caterpillars, grasshoppers, crickets, ect and i was wondering if ground up if buttons could eat those as treats? i eman i know the meal worms but what about crickets or snails?

I have been raising one for about 10+ years now.
I always have a bag of cat food on hand. It is the single most readily accepted and well balanced nutrition available for...MY CAT!

My birds get game bird feed!

If I had any tootsie rolls....They are for the feed monster only.

THO YOU CAN SUPPLIMENT THEM WITH CARBON OR ALUMINUM AS NEEDED

Mine are very healthy, they get a dose of aluminum arrows with turkey heads every time they visit. I wonder why they won't stick around and play? When they do they just set there.

my understanding is that some people give ground cat food as a protein boost but that it is VERY BAD for their livers (i think it said livers) And that the salts in catfood are harmful to quail. I have only heard of it being fed to the bigger quail.I would think it would be more dangerous to tiny little Buttons.
More likely kidneys ( I had a dog who kept eating cat food and it inflamed her kidneys horribly, there's just so much salt in cat food) although I don't know about dog food, I know that quails can't eat meat but my chickens love eating my dogs stale meat and kibble.

If you want to add protein, tractor supply carries freeze dried mealworms and black soldier fly larvae in some pretty large bags and are safe for both chickens and quail. I gave my runt quail group bsfl to help catch them up with the bigger birds and it worked pretty good. Now I just give them as occasional treats.
