Does any one use ivermectin in chickens ?

Hello muddyfeathers, have you seen this! A farmer told me about it last week at the Cattle Market!

RED STOP SOLUTION

RED MITE KILLER CHICKENS POULTRY BIRDS PIGEONS.

The product is called” Red Stop Solution” and has just been made available to the domestic market for use with poultry in eradicating Red Mite.
It has however been thoroughly tested by the commercial sites throughout Europe for ten years and in the UK for the past year.
It is approved for use in organic farming and meets the requirements of the regulations for organic farming of the C.E.E. ( C.E.E. DECREE NO. 2092/91 and subsequent amendments) and the organic farming organisations. It has also been approved by ECOCERT for use in organic farming.
It has been proved beyond doubt that it is second to none as the ultimate natural weapon against red mite.
As Red Stop Solution is a natural, organic solution, this means that any eggs laid during treatment are not affected.

Red Stop Solution should be used in conjunction with Smite or Poultry Shield and Diatom as Red Stop is the remedy only for blood sucking mites. Diatom will keep other parasites like lice at bay and Poultry Shield or Smite are excellent as fungicides and bactericides.

So all in all, poultry owners will now be able to posses the right weapons to maintain a clean and friendly environment for all their feathered friends, including pigeons and other avian at very little expense. For example: 50ml of Red Stop is sufficient to treat up to 6 birds over a 12 month period.
Red Stop Solution has no effect on either the odour, colour or other characteristics of the egg and leaves no product residues in the egg. Meaning no egg withdrawal period.

Here are a few other benefits that Using Red Stop can provide:
  • Reduces stress & mortality in birds from poultry mites.
  • Birds relax- increased productivity.
  • Easy to use simply add to drinking water.
  • Approved for organic farming.
  • No insecticides- natural ingredients.
If Red Stop is used correctly and as directed it will prove very effective against Red Mite and your birds will be a lot happier and healthier.

So Just To Recap

  • Red Stop Solution has been sold in Europe as well as many other countries for the last 10 years. It has only recently arrived in the UK due to the foresight of one of our leading poultry vets.
  • Red Stop Solution is different from any other anti Red Mite eradicators because it eliminates all Red Mite by starving them to death. The solution is added to the birds drinking water over a period of 10 days, then 1 day a week. This makes the chickens blood completely unpalatable to the mite which then die of starvation over a period of time and because they cant feed they cant breed.
  • Red Stop Solution is completely safe and does not have any effect on egg quality and therefore there is no egg withdrawal period.
  • Red Stop Solution has been thoroughly tested over the last 10 years on commercial sites throughout Europe, and for the last 12 months here in the UK.
  • Red Stop Solution has proved beyond doubt that it is second to non as the ultimate natural weapon against red mite.
  • Red Stop Solution is a natural, organic solution, any eggs laid during periods of treatment are not affected.
  • Red Stop Solution has organic certificates throughout Europe.

This morning I noticed a spot on my broody Sizzles head. It looked like she had been pecked. She is in a separate cage. When I got her out and was examining her I discovered its mites. They are red and still on the birds head in the crest. Its always the crest. They are on there all the time not hiding during the day. I treated on the site of the mites with .5cc Ivermectin. I cleaned all the bedding in cage, but the next box and soaked it down with liquid Devin Dust. When that dried put new shavings in and then her and nest box. I will keep you posted on the results.

I know the ad copy wasn't meant this way, but ......

Does this mean that the foresight of the leading poultry vet was in delaying it's use in the UK for ten years?

Lol. A lady that I know and respect told me the other day that she had lost another 3-4 of her chickens. When I asked her if she had wormed them recently she said that she had been worming them with ivermectin for over 12 months. When I suggested that she change wormers she said " oh no they didn't have worms , the breeder told me that they were dying from some ' wasting ' disease that is apparently quite common in chickens ".
If only people would apply more science and less ' hear say ' to chicken raising.

Many people have lost their peafowl because they wormed with ivermectin.
