Does anyone else get annoyed by this?

I don't know about you guys, but this REALLY annoys me even though I should probably ignore it. Okay, as some of you may or may not know, I'm a huge car person. I love cars, I know alot about them too. One thing is though, I'm a lady. This means I get picked on and teased by some guys who well, belive that women don't care about cars or don't know a thing about them; or they over generalize and think that all of us can't drive very well. I wish I could just ignore these people but I can't. I get STEAMED when people do this

. So I was just wondering, does this bother you guys as well?

It only bothers me that I'm out changing tires in the snow, while DH watches. I told him if I'm gonna be changing tires, he'd better go inside and COOK something for me when I get back!!
He was ticked for a bit, but when I got back from water duty he did have a can of beef Ravioli warmed up. Not much, but it was appreciated

When I was young and cute people would tick me off because they would look at me like I had two heads or something. The boys would be amused like I was just repeating something I'd heard my brothers, Dad or boyfriend say until they found that I could sling wrenches too. Now that I'm older men seem to still think I'm a novelty and I guess it is sort of strange but once they get over the weird factor they're more appreciative especially since I'm a muscle car fan and we can get into some heated discussions such as to mopar or not to mopar.

You jest...Mopar was THE muscle car. Mopar was the ONLY muscle car.

Everything else was...well, just everything else.

Nah...that stuff doesn't annoy me.

What annoys me is when wimmen think that the only cookin' a man can do is heating a can of Ravioli or cookin' a hot dog on an outdoor grill.

It makes me wanna just THROW my knittin' OUT THE WINDOW !!!

Bugs me too- I am a woman, a wife, and a mommy- and an ASE certified specialist and a commercial parts Pro at Advance auto Parts- Guys come in all the time and want to speak only to men- If they only knew how many mechanics call me in a day to ask for diagnosis, and how many people call just to talk to me about parts or wait in line- JUST FOR ME for 30 minutes at a time. Just because you are a woman doesnt mean you know jack about a car- here is my truck- did it myself.. The guys love it!!

By the way Chevy's rule

It doesn't bother me.
I have my CDL, drove for several years and I like to see the looks on their faces when they realize I know my trucks inside and out.
My father had 6 girls, no boys and as the eldest, I was the one under the family cars with him fixing this or that. He was also a truck driver and although I have wandered back to my former life as a scientist, I still have his love of things with big engines.

That's a nice Chevy! I've got a 1999 Pontiac Super Charged Grand prix...it's really nice.

I think its hot...

I always get my wife to help me...she can get her arm in places I can't

Try walking in to a parts shop with a tie on...it is just as bad
