Does anyone else hate their neighbors as much as I do???

I have ridiculously mean and hateful neighbors that complain about every little noise that comes from my property. Chickens, turkeys, dogs and my dogs are in the house 95 % of the time. We have no covenants or ordinances that says I can't have any of these animals. My dogs never bark early in the am or after 9 at night, they are in the house. I won't use the word hate but I dislike my neighbors very much. If they would just keep their mouths shut, all would be fine.

Well, I don't hate my neighbors, but I do have some issues with them.

1.) Their yard. They haven't mowed it since last fall, so now they have a 120 square foot section of yard with over 6 foot high weeds, and it and my land join, no fence no marker no nothing. While it is good for the chickens to forage and hide in, I'm sure it also harbors a lot of ticks, turkey mites, fleas, and snakes. None of which I want. The rest of their yard is about knee high with grass and weeds. They have junk thrown all over the place and it truely is a bother and an eye sore. The other day, he actually got out a weedeater and knocked down the 6 foot high weeds around his satelitte dish, because he could even get reception for it anymore! LOL.

2.) And this just intensifes number one. They have lived there on and off, mostly in the summer, for 2 years. In that time they have chained up at least 4 pitbulls and just left them without food, water, or attention. I had to lug water to them, always boys, every day, and feed them with my own dog food. I also had to loosen their collars because they would get way to tight and unsafe. They only kept them for a few months, then gave them to someone else. They dog they got this summer was a rottie, and it would constantly come over here when they let it out and attack our ducks and chickens. Their kids were the only one's to ever come out and deal with it, and I asked them once if their dad knew what the dog was doing. They said yes, so I asked him what his dad said about it. Nothing. That was the answer. They just let it run loose anyway. That dog mysteriously went missing one day, and it never came back. I don't know what happened to it, but my guess is the parents took it someone and just told the kids it went missing.

I don't hate them for these things, because apparently they just weren't raised any better, but I do wish by now they could learn some respect and desencey and teach it to the 4-5 kids they have.

Sorry for not posting been busy outside. I also have a guy who complained about me BBQing. He said he hates the smell and wishes I would stop. I don't get some people. I have also had a complaint about my dogs barking but its in the afternoon and not past 10PM or before 7am.

I like what Emzyyy said about painting the house outlandish colors.... a tartan plaid look maybe?

Perhaps swimming pool blue with blaze orange trim? Or better yet n:Don yellow so when the sun shines you are blinded by the house?

Last time I checked this was a free country. Do whatever you want and ignore this guy. Serve the responding officers cookies and stuff like cassie said.

Good luck!

You know before we moved in the lady painted the house pumpkin orange with green trim. I bet it was over the same neighbor. We may do the same soon. flamingo pink house and a orange fence.

I have two sets of neighbors. One is oblivious. I have a crazy pack of NON-debarked poodles that go out every morning like they are starting the Iditarod, screaming their heads off for about three minutes, plus five aviaries of lovebirds, literally hundreds of them. They screech and scream like crazy at dawn and at dusk. Plus I have another flight of cockatiels, and several grow out pens of young poultry, and inside some cages with parrotlet pairs, finches... and no one even raises an eyebrow, EVER, in twelve years. I am right across from a college, they don't care either.

Now the house that is zoned ag, I am allowed 300 chickens, of which 13 may be roosters. I got five little ol' silkies and the neighbor burst a blood vessel practically and killed all my silkies by hosing them off and soaking them at night when the temps were below freezing! I showed HIM!!! I got more birds, and more and MORE!!! Now I have... lemme see... oh, fuggedabout exact numbers, but I'm sure there are more than a hundred, and BOY to they get INTO the egg song every time someone lays one! I have that neighbor beat down though and he quit calling in bogus complaints and looks at the ground and walks away when he sees me.

My neighbors and myself both live on 5 acres but someone had the dumb brain idea to put the houses 300ft back off of the rd but only 40 feet apart. There is a ditch running between the two driveways and the neighbor owns four feet this side of the ditch. When we first moved in - just to be nice so he wouldn't have to go all the way down his driveway onto the road and back down the other side- I mowed his strip on our side of the ditch. He came out with property stakes while I was doing it. Never said a word. Unfortunately for him I am outside the city limits and he is inside. I have chickens. He hates them. In three years not one word. We wave everytime we see them and they turn their heads like they just heard a shot gun in the other direction. Some people are just unhappy or extremely private. I say ignore.

We been ignoring but its hard to ignore him driving 20 miles under the speed limit (25 MPH) and look up and down our house for problems. I been video taping this for evidence just in case we get one more complaint.

Whomever she is complaining to should get tired of this and offer to cite her.

I have a friend who lives in an incorporated area. Her neighbor kept complaining and the city official could find nothing wrong.

So, they told her neighbor next time she complained and they found no problems she would get a citation.

It has been very quiet since then.
