Does anyone else not like silkies?

I dont do silkies. Im not sure the reasoning for their being. My rocks and Ameraucanas can be very much lap chickens, and are amazingly soft. Im all about production, since I sell eating eggs, so silkies seem like a waste of space and air to me.

Sounds like people either hate them or love them. I find them to be extremely unattractive and, of course, useless on the farm. After reading the comments that they are good broody hens, I will consider that that might be a use for them. Of course there are all the great broody real chickens to choose from if in need of a broody. Must be a pet love thing for those who like them; like having a pet gerbil which is useless if not for an affection toward them.

Say you don't mean it!

well the reason I posted this is because at the county fair everyone kept going up to the cages and taking pics and i was like...u actually like those birds? Then i think my buddy put 10 of their eggs in my bator and they are to hatch on the 11th

I love the silkies, but I also see the beauty in most birds. My male silkie from Chapel farms is the friendliest, sweetest chicken I have. I think to each their own, but I never knew Silkies were considered lazy, most of my Silkies are active and always looking for a worm or cricket.

I think they have the most docile temperament when being held.

I am not crazy about them or any of the top hat style birds, but to each his own. Thats what makes life fun. It would be a boring life if we were carbon copies.
