Does anyone else use Oxine AH ???

I hope I didn't miss this info. But where do you get it? I found some with an online search but can it be purchased at some chain store or other?

I bought Oxine AH from AtoZvet supply on line. don't get the activator not for use with animals. I bought a 5 gallon bucket and use it every day, spray out nest boxes, spray over chickens once a week, put 1/8 tea. in a gallon of drinking water. wash feed bowls and wateres with it.

This stuff sounds so awesome. Anybody have any idea if it is approved for human consumption? I have an immune deficiency and am always sick, often with respiratory ailments. I would run this stuff in my humidifiers in a heartbeat if it wouldn't do any harm to my family.

Love it! Love it! I have cleaned the whole barn with this stuff. sprayed and scrubed the metal gates, sprayed the floors, mats, walls all over. I keep a two gallon garden sprayer full and go through the barn misting things down. Even works great in the goats stall. I always use it after I have stripped the coops out and alternate with the premytherin (sp?) keep all the germs at bay and the bugs at bay on alternate weeks. It just leaves the place smelling clean. I use it to spray down my patio area....also keeps the flys down....if the area is clean the flies will go elsewhere. I have alot of respiratory issues and it doesn't trigger my asthma like clorox bleach and other heavy duty cleaners do. Can't say enough about it! Got from revival pet supply. They had the best price!

I read that, too, but I'm almost certain that refers to activated Oxine. Once activated, you can't use it directly on poultry, either, and if you sterilized a coop with it activated, you would have to remove the animals first. As is, without the activator, it can be used directly on animals and even in their water, according to the information I am seeing. I'll have to do some more research tomorrow. Now, it's time for bed!

I see no reason that Oxine would not be safe (in the right concentrations and in its UNACTIVATED form) for human consumption. England has been using it instead of bleach, in their public water supply, for a long, long time. I often feel the benefits of Oxine when I fog the barn, especially if I have a cold. I wouldn't hesitate in the least bit, to put some in a humidifier in my house. Again, in the unactivated form.

I have spoken with the US sales manager for Oxine and he doesn't feel I have to remove my birds when I fog/spray the barn with activated Oxine. I haven't received my citric acid packets yet, so I have not started spraying with the activated form, but when I do, I plan to use it just like I use the unactivated form. (I'll just be a little careful when I mix the citric acid into the Oxine and do this part outdoors - making sure the wind isn't blowing towards me.)

Regarding purchasing it, I have only found it online - and have not had any luck finding it locally in any chains. Maybe some day, as it gains in popularity, will it be available in feed stores or the like. At least I don't have to get it from Europe any longer!

Also, I don't see any harmful incompatibilities with using Oxine when you are also using diatomaceous earth. The only thing it could possibly do is cause the DE to be less effective, but there shouldn't be any problems per se, with using them together. KJ Theodore at Shagbark Bantams would probably have a better answer to this since she is a chemist and I am just a pharmacist.
