Does anyone feed their chickens Brewer's Yeast?

Yeast if good for humans as well as chickens and other animals. There are 2 types, one is very flavorful the other is mild. I buy Twinlab Genuine Brewers Yeast. It's also a good source of calcium.

Has anyone used Nutritional Yeast instead of Brewer's Yeast? I have a chick with a vitamin deficiency that we're treating with polyvisol, but I am considering adding a yeast to the feed for all the girls. They are 3 weeks old now...only one with the deficiency. In researching I noticed the Nutritional Yeast has much higher %s of B-12 and Selenium. Thoughts?

oh no... our chickers LOVE their garlic! We feed them quite a lot with no residual garlic taste in the eggs.

The main difference between brewers yeast and nutritional yeast is the vitamin b12 content. B12 is typically hard to get enough of in a vegetable-based diet. Nutritional yeast is usually quite a bit more expensive than brewers.
