Better to start with young birds, older birds take longer to break. Have many people looking for hens, because a lone peacock show up on there place.

Sand, no Pure Java, as I dont heat my pens/Barn. Here in Ohio they will need heat in the winters.

We bought our first pair for $75 and they were 2 year olds, the male was killed so we bought another pair from a different breeder that were 2 years old for $50. Now peafowl are selling for cheap here, you are lucky if you can get $20 for them. That is for the india blues. I think there is one breeder in the area that has black shouldered, whites, and pieds. If I could have any color it would be bronze or cameo.
