Does anyone know where I can buy a single newborn duckling?

I tried incubating and I suspect my eggs all died but I am giving them till tomorrow night (day 30).

I really wanted to have one so it could imprint on me, but I don't have anymore time to incubate and raise anymore (I only had one chance) so I really want to buy a newborn so it imprints on me and not its siblings. Anyone know where I can get only one?

What breed are you incubating? Muscovey are 34-35 days incubation. Have you candled? Where are you located to get a duckling?

I candled today and saw nothing but some people say its hard to see so they told me to wait a little longer. I live in southern California.

Try ducksforbackyards.com... you can order two and then sell the other one.

I'm not sure of any websites that sell only one duckling. It's really not safe to ship only one.

In my humble opinion.... it is not really fair to the duck to get just one. I understand you want it to imprint on you but my experience is that both chickens and ducks are very social. We had a time last year for awhile after one of our ducks died that I had a lonely duck. It was so happy when I got a couple more a few months later. They will still love you but try to think about the duck too.
