Is there a site that shows pics of chickens' feet? Does this help to determine the type and sex of the chicken? Is it ever possible that hens have spurs or is that just a secondary rooster characteristic?

Hens can and do have spurs and spur bumps. It is not a sex characteristic.

The color of a chickens feet has nothing to do with their sex. Colors can identify the breed.

Thank you. I have been waiting for my first egg from Chickie as she will be 5 months by the end of September. She started crowing and doing the rooster dance for me. I think she is just copying her mate, Roo. However, I noticed little spurs coming out on her legs yesterday and so I was really wondering. Everything else about her screams hen. I guess I just have to wait and see.

I appreciate the information about the spur though, thanks again.

This site has nice photos. http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/BRKPoultryPage.html#Chickens
