Does anyone still name their car/truck?

Most of mine have been named...if not by me then by someone else.

One of my cars years ago was dubbed "Christine", as in Stephen King's Christine. She was good to me but caused all kinds of trouble when others drove her or took her someplace....I eventually sold her off for use in the demo derby and to be crushed after that....but every so often over the years friend's will say that they could have sworn they seen her racing down the road just the other day...

Yes, yes we do.

Our mini van is the 'Swagger Wagon', and the ancient Grand Marquis is known as Aunt Margo, Margaret, Marge, Mercintosh, or just 'The Merc.'

The Neon has no name but one of our trucks is called 'Stinky'. The Jeep is called 'Rubi' (Rubicon). One of our Dually farm trucks I affectionately call 'Grunt'.

Only two of my cars have been worthy of names. Unless you call "that piece of ____" a name. That's mostly what we called the Explorer we had. My first car, a '77 Corolla sport coupe, was Bo. Then I had a series of un-named, mostly un-loved vehicles, until I got my '99 Camry. I called it Red - because it was red. I had that car for 11 years and I still miss it.

Wow! I'm soooo glad I'm not the only one who talks to my truck and pats her dash when I think she did a good job going up a hill or just needs encouragement!

I've always named my cars:
My first car was a gray 1989 Mits Mirage was Blas. Named him after a base player in a metal band.
My first truck was a dark blue Ford Ranger to replace the Mirage was Clarence. A good friend named him after the Angle in It's a Wonderful Life. I loved that truck and never should have traded him for my next Ford Ranger. He was gold and was a total cranky old man. He was Maximillian or Max and he was awful. I was so glad to get rid of him! After Max I got a white 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 which I love to pieces. Her name is Snowflake but we call her Miss Piggy or Piggy because she is a total gas hog and she hates ethanol with a passion. She is best friends with pump number 1 at the local gas station. One of the employees at the gas station always tells me "I see the Besties are catching up today!" Talk about embarrassing!
We have also had a blue Doge Dakota pick up named Joe Bob, a Dodge Ram stake bed truck named LuluBelle and a 69 Chevy stake bed truck named Jezebelle. Then there was our 2005 Chevy Malibu named Barbie!

I used to have a red geo metro that went every where in a big hurry. Divorced Mom with 2 kids in high school one kid in junior high. I was also working 2 jobs. My now DH named it the.... METEOR.

A while back we bought a Chevy silverado, 2500 HD, 4 door, 4x4 really big truck. It is Indigo blue. Named it.... BLUE.

Then there is the small Ford Ranger Pick up named ......BABY TRUCK.

My trucks name is "Mutt". It's made from different pieces of other trucks to make one. The front seat is from my old brown truck, the back seat is from a different truck, the hood is black, the sides are white, and the bed is primer. I also pat the dash after a trip, if I make it home sucessfully.

My husbands little Dakota is the "Putt Putt Truck".

Bob, Dave and George would be nice options
If I ever have three cars, perhaps I shall settle for those
Or if I do not ever get three...
perhaps I shall settle for my bicycle
