Does Chicken Organization Exist?

Me too! I was thinking they certainly aren't self-organizing like Society Finches at night. They group up according to color. It's adorable.

Regarding organizing, I don't have anything worthy of a Pintrest Board, but feed are in trash cans with rollers on the bottom. Hay goes in a big plastic tub. Supplements and small bags of stuff go in these:

If you have a small number of chickens it works great for food, too. But when you're emptying a bin four or five times to feed that got annying.

What is this dispenser system called? Where did you get it? I NEED this!!!

Chicken stuff - has anyone figured out nifty tricks for containing things like feed, tools, or bedding?

I'm old fashioned and have a collection of Behrens metal trash cans; the small ones that hold one 50# bag of feed. I think it is the ten gallon size but the labels are gone so I'm not sure.

Bedding, sand, and such are left in their bags and stashed in a corner.

All the scoops, tools, plastic containers, supplements, medicines, heaters, extension cords, light bulbs and such are piled about a foot deep on top of a plywood table. Neatness is not my strong suit but sometimes I can find things.

Wow, what a great idea! Those containers are really nice-looking! Nice shelving, too.

Thanks! The shelves are just some planks of wood and brackets, but it uses up dead space pretty efficiently. That's about as DIY as I get, haha.

Although not the exact same thing, "dry food dispenser" or "candy dispenser" brought up a few similiar, reasonably priced results at walmart's website!

That is what I use too - I prefer metal because rodents can't chew through it. Although now I have eliminated the rodents I probably could use plastic but the behrens works just fine.

Organization ideas indirectly associated with chickens (do coop build tools count?):

•Tackle boxes for batteries
•$1 shoe bins for misc hardware storage
•Wad of extension cords in a tool box

I call them Cereal Dispensers. I used them at a pet store, and got all these from a pet store that was going out of business for waaaaaaaaay less than they are new.

I have some 5 gallon buckets that are the square ones with the lid that half opens - love them! I had a couple & then my neighbor gave me a couple when she moved. I like them because you can stack them.

I also use the metal garbage cans for feed, I get 2 50lb bags in one can.

I LOVE organization, but I find it difficult to be extremely organized in the shed where I keep all the chicken stuff. It's hard with open bales of straw & bags full of mulched leaves all over! I also have spare heated waterers, small feeders & waterers for chicks, for growing birds & then spares for the big birds. Spare hardware cloth & fencing is the hardest to organize - that stuff hurts.
