Thanks everyone!
I'll probably get a DNA test soon.
Here are some more pictures though.

People keep talking about his head shape. I can't see how it is so different from Latte's, and she's all Quarter Horse?:idunno I'm not seeing anything dished about his profile (if anything, he has a touch of a Roman nose), nor do I see the big "air scoop" nostrils (those first pictures don't count, since he was clearly scenting something). He has him some good, big ol' Quarter Horse feet, too (gads, I wish Sunny had feet like that!). What is it that you are seeing that I don't?

There are two parts to this story. All/ nearly all light horse breeds, including Quarter Horses in America, have Arabian ancestors. Does your gelding have near Arabian ancestors, maybe. And all purebred Arabians don't have that cute dished profile, either.

No, they don't - I've known a few that didn't - but they certainly don't have Roman noses. There are other traits, like the shorter back and fine bone, that bespeak their breeding.

They sure do. Almost all well-bred QH's have Three Bars (b. 1940 d. 1968) somewhere in their ancestry, and he was a Thoroughbred. There is so much Thoroughbred type in the modern Quarter Horse, one of the horses that played Secretariat in the movie was actually a registered Quarter Horse.

(the real Secretariat - could almost pass for a Quarter Horse, right?)
