Hello guys I had an accident last week due to one of my cockatiels being on top of my canaries cage the other day manage to reach to grab one of them and did some damage. I haven’t made an appointment to the vet because I thought at the time when it happen it was some blood and was going to heal up quickly and bruised while hurt but notice within today more infection is coming yellowish with purple and he has movement in his leg he can feel pain as he moves allot when I clean his wounds thinking he has feeling still and no need for an amputation I’m just very sad that I won’t able to help him I want to make a vet appointment but I am scared if they tell me to put down the bird but I want to save him from pain too.

Thanks for the help

Make a vet appointment. It's essentially his only chance. The vet may prescribe antibiotics, and given that you say the wound looks swollen and infected, he will likely die if he does not receive some sort of remedy for that.

As a pet owner you always have the final say on whether to put any animal down or not. They can't make you.

Poor little guy! Hope he feels better. In my opinion it doesn’t look like something that would make the vet suggest to put him down, I would definitely get a vets or professionals opinion though

Totally agree I’m not an evil person just I’m scared and I’m in a tight situation at the moment

How is your canary? Did you get him in to see the Vet? I hope he is doing better. Please give us an update.
