Hi, im new to BYC. Recently, my broiler chicken (he’s already 4 months old) have some black dark spots growing on its comb. I just want to confirm if its really fowl pox or not. i was just kinda worried because i just lost 7 chicks because of it. I also attached some pictures.

Looks like it.
Fowl Pox can be really rough on chicks. Did they have any respiratory symptoms or lesions inside their beaks?

I havent checked thier mouth but i can tell they have the wet type of fowl pox. It already covered their eyes and they are huge pimple like bumps. So far, there are only 2 chicks left and idk if their fowl pox is already gone or its gonna start again.

If it's covering their eyes, then try to make sure they are drinking and eating.
Hopefully the lesions will dry up soon. It can be so very hard on the youngsters.
Just want to give an update

the other chick died today and only 1 is left and its also not looking good. Meanwhile, the broiler chicken (the one in the pic i posted) had already have its one eye closed. My other batch of 6 chicks who are only 2 weeks old started to have one too just today. Im very devastated:hit.

I'm sorry to hear that!:hugs
Do you have photos of the chicks? How bad?

Try not to disturb the scabs, keep your water stations clean. On chicks Fowl Pox can be so much worse. Do what you can to keep them hydrated and eating.

Its still on the early stage so its not that bad but i fear its ultimately going to lead to a worser one. Here are the photos. Those are 3 different chicks. Im noticing some have it on the side of their beaks and some have something on their comb as well. Do you think i could do anything to prevent this from even getting bad?

Sweet little ones!❤️

I would try sanitizing the water as explained in the article below. I would also apply Iodine or Povidone Iodine to the scabs that are appearing. Take care not to disturb the scabs, just put the Iodine on a qtip and dot it on. Worth a shot to see if it helps start drying those up or at least limit the eruptions.
Keep them drinking and eating the best you can.

Since you are having outbreaks like this, look into Fowl Pox vaccine, it may help future chicks, but I think it's administered around day 8, so you would want to do what you can to keep mosquitoes out of brooders until you can vaccinate.

Oh, i do have one more question. Will fowl pox worsen on sunny days when chicks get some exposure to the sun or on rainy days?
