Does my duckling have splay leg

Still a little splayed so if you can keep him in it for the day maybe that is all it will take or maybe 2 just hard to say. Tweak the straw a little so it fits a little tighter. Or how is he walking is he able to walk okay?

They are so precious :love

Okay that’s was my thoughts as well, still a little splayed..He walks really well with it on...but I was thinking maybe a little tighter to... it made a improvement over night so I was thinking the rest of today atleast to... and then he should be fixed all up:)... and thankyou I just love these little guys , my first duck hatch it turned out pretty good all in all.. 7 out of 12

If you have some nutri drench you can try some straight along the bill it’s great for newly hatched. That’s why I think if you only hobble overnight you probably see an improvement always up to you
You were right, I hobbled him over night and it made an improvement, think I’ll leave it on for the rest of today and I ordered some nutri drench last night to:)... I gave him some scrambled yolk in the mean time to get those nutrients in until the nutri drench gets here

He liked the egg yolk? never have been able to get my ducks to eat egg cooked. My chickens love it. Glad your little one liked it. Hope to hear a great progress report tomorrow :)
They all loved it I just scrambled it real quick, made it kinda mushy... it was duck egg though and not chicken egg I’m not sure if that makes a difference or not...it seemed to give them all a little boost of energy... I’ll keep you posted on the little one :)

Whenever I have an assisted hatch, I often get the same thing. Based on my experience, he should be just fine! My last baby could barely walk for days and only started walking normally once he was full-grown. Even after he could walk, he would step all over his own feet and fall over. Just watch closely around ledges!

Are you supplementing their feed with some form of niacin? if using chick starter it's very important that water fowl babies get extra niacin because chick starter doesn't have enough You can use Nutritional yeast sprinkled over their feed 1 Tab per cup of feed daily till 10 weeks old or get a B Complex liquid 1 Tab daily till 10 weeks of age Its very important they have this supplement since some can become lame and have neurological issue with out it. Do not buy any niacin that says it's flush free or time released neither of them are good to use.

I am not giving them anything like that ...can you find nutritional yeast at like a Walmart or grocery store?the nearest pet /feed store we have is an hour away , but my nutri drench should be in the mail today, does that have niacin and b complex in it?? Or should I add that stuff on top of the nutri drench??
