I ordered some silkie bantam without realizing that they’re much larger than a typical bantam. I have an almost two year old Japanese bantam hen who isn’t even a pound— I could toss her freely.
Where as silkie bantams are said to be 2-3 pounds. (Size comparison)
I’ve been extremely worried that my hen is going to become bottom of the pecking order, trampled on, and abused by the other chickens. So, does size matter?
