My 2.5 y/o BO used to lay everyday and now has stopped. Her comb has gotten smaller and less red in color? normal with aging?
She seems fine otherwise. THANKS

I think it's normal. Sometimes, in the fall they molt, which also causes them to stop laying and I do believe their comb is redder and more prominent when they lay. I haven't really seen any of my hen's combs shrink, but maybe they do look smaller since they're not so red......

The loss of daylight, molt, cooler temps, age all contribute to comb shrinkage...time for a break during the fall and winter months, including egg production. That will all change next spring.
