I went outside today and saw this new chicken near my fence and it's got bright red eyes, I at first thought it was pretty cool but then I googled to find the breed and seen nothing but bad things, I have a little area where my neighbors chickens can come in and eat because they aren't the best owners but I need to know if I should seal it, is my flock at risk? I appreciate the help!

What breed do you think the bird is?

If you have clearer photos that may help.

No one can say whether that bird is healthy or not. Different breeds/lines and strains have an assortment of eye colors.

If your worried about illness, then close the section off, but most illnesses are spread through dust/dander, your clothes/shoes, etc. etc. So if your flock is very close by then you may just want to continue as you are.

Is that a hen with a really small comb, or is it a rooster that has had its comb cut off? Her weight looks healthy. I love that eye color, i have lots of birds with orange eyes.

I think it's a rooster, after she walked away I heard the rooster noise and no other birds were around, so that's a natural eye color?

Thanks for the advice and yeah I understand I had to take the photos through a fence and he wouldn't sit still, I'll try to get a better photo today
