Does this hen look normal?

There is an article explaining how scratch grains actually REDUCE their proteins. Bottom line, I'm going to reduce my scratch grains to one Tbsp per bird per day, and add mealworms instead to increase their protein intake. My birdies wil looooove meee, lol!
Yep, that too. Thats why I dont get grain at all OR buy barley and grow fodder.

I only use it as a treat. My hens for some reason go nuts over the scratch grains. I only do about a handful (my hands are small) every couple days into the run, they pick at it as they please

Its not bad BAD...chickens love scratch, feeding in moderation is okay, althougb mealworms and bugs are better, it sounds like you are doing just fine.

Hey y’all, im not too sure if i’m posting in the right forum. I’m looking to adopt this EE from a neighbor of mine. Before I do, i’m concerned about her neck area. Is this normal for EEs to have?
That is a salmon faverolles. Yes it is normal. It would be more concerning if a faverolles didn't have one. ;)

Indeed it does, as it takes away from the amount of their real feed that they are eating. I find a treat that is much more popular among the girls, AND healthier than scratch is just their normal feed mixed with water. They Looooove it. You'd think they were getting a five star meal!

Or fermented feed, I usually have a ferment bucket going for a treat and they get a few scoops a day. They adore it, and it doesn't take away any of their daily nutritional intake.

Never even thought of mixing there normal feed with water. Do you make into a mush and give it to them?
