I believe these chicks are about 9 weeks old. These two have the most developed comb and wattles. Although not all that much more than the others. Do you think they are roosters? I keep going back and forth. Maybe there is just some variation among hens for comb size? I keep trying to see if they have pointy longer saddle feathers but I just cannot really tell. Another that I am sure is a hen is slightly bigger than these two.

the bottom pic......one on the left does.

The others look like hens. my roo's had larger combs at that age.

do you know what breed they are? That might help a little... they look like a few i have and i know what i was told they are, curious to see what breed yours are.

I was kinda starting to think they might be hens. I have examined them so closely for subtle differences trying to figure out if they are hens or roos. I am going cross eyed. Then I thought...Maybe the reason I am having such a hard time telling the roos from the hens is cuz they are actually all hens. I dunno...

I was told these were RIR sex linked hens. But the place I bought them from at 3 weeks old is hardly a professional breeding farm so I have had my doubts all along. I have posted pics before and the input was that these are Production Reds.

They look 100% exactly like my Reds, but my reds are referred to "Production Reds" - not sure what physical differences there are between full blood RIR and Prod reds??

I'd say hens.
