Gotcha, they came with the coop kit and were supposedly “proven” predator safe. Good to know. Guess I will be changing them out.If I am seeing the slide bolts correctly they drop in a channel. That's not really locking at all. Coons can operate those easily.
I have not installed the hardwire to the ground yet. I live in new jersey in a neighborhood and currently have 2 hens and a rooster (who will be leaving soon) was debating on getting another hen or not.Welcome to BYC!!
Is there an anti-dig apron around the base?
Good examples of apron installation, tho I'd not recommend 1/2" HC...go with 14ga 1x2 or 1x1, will hold up much longer and is easier to lay flat.
