I am curious. I sold birds three weeks ago. Temps have been wicked hot and will continue to be. Upper 80's and up to the mid (or more) 90's. I cannot ship the birds. P.O would not let me and I wouldn't, anyway. (Unfortunately buyer is now upset so a refund will be given and I'll resell them to someone local or willing to wait.)

ANYWAY...I am curious b/c I see so many being able to ship still. Is the weather just that drastically different around the U.S right now or are some post offices ignorant when it comes to the temperatures allowing shipping live animals?

I think you mean chicks and not eggs?

I've never heard of a limitation on shipping eggs but in the articles I've read about shipping chicks the USPS statement was that they do not ship chicks in extreme weather.

Glad to oblige! I have not eaten *all day*. I was called in to work today when I thought I had a week off. My brain has turned to a puddle of mush.

It was only 69 degrees here today, so perfect weather for shipping. I always check in with the trip to see the temps along the way as well. Typically our PO doesn't ask, however they do put the birds in the front with the driver if they have any concerns about them getting too hot or too cold.
