Hi everyone,
My husband and I are new chicken owners. We just picked up 4 hens, all about 4 months old, last Saturday so we've had them less than a week now. Our biggest hen, I believe a light brown leghorn, became lethargic and stopped eating about 3 days ago. We moved inside 2 days ago and she stays in a box with straw and some water and soggy bread. Haven't seen her eat or drink though and she's only pooped once. If we set her down she kind of falls over and then just stays where she is. I'll come home from work and she is in exactly the same spot I left her. I can pet her and pick her up and she sometimes won't even open her eyes when I do this. We thought she might be cold, so made sure she was in a really warm part of the house, but she remains the same. We're wondering if we should take her to the vet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! We just have no idea what might be the matter
