Dog ate my eggs! :(

I got some eggs in the mail yesterday, about 35, and left them on the counter while I went to work. I was planning on making sure the incubator temp was stable when I returned home and then placing the eggs. I immediately found one broken on the ground

and then found only one carton with 6 left.

UGH! Well, I'm certainly immediately going to order more but I was so looking forward to these. Boo.

One of my dogs eats potatoes out of the potatoe bin, but never an egg and we have offered.

Haha, my dog ate a carton of Guinea eggs once. I brought them in and put them on a low counter (so they would be safe) while I went back outside to get something. When I came back in the carton was on the floor and empty and there was NOTHING left - not even a piece of shell. At first I was concerned I had forgotten to actually bring the eggs in and just THOUGHT I did like maybe I was losing my mind....
It had never occured to me that the dogs LOVED eggs. Live and learn, huh?

OMG

I would be so upset! I am so very sorry for your loss of the eggs. My St Bernards will eat eggs and my biggest one until he passed away this past week would stand over the incubators while I had them open and just look at me like "please mommy please???!!) He learned to eat only what I gave him when it came to eggs - I think you're gonna need to put them up on a shelf until the bator is ready.

So sorry again!

I had 16 goose eggs sitting in a bucket in my kitchen and my aussie dog got ahold of them.
I left 8 in the nest lets hope mrs. goose keeps on sitting on them..

I have a dog (but thankfully outside and on a 75 foot cable run) who learned to eat raw eggs when he was just a pup, which is why I had to tie him up. Mom and Dad (who live up the Hill) didn't like it very much. He could scoop an egg into his mouth faster than you could imagine! Before I started getting fresh eggs from my own hens, I'd give him the eggs I had bought and didn't eat quickly enough. Now, either I eat them or I sell them or the incubator gets them.
