Well it is "that bad" to me..... The poor girl has no feathers on her back and down below her neck..she had them all ripped out by a dog. And on top of that got chewed on for a while like a chew bone and has deep puncture wounds throughout her whole body. All the parts that look like hamburger meat are the multiple puncture wounds. She can't extend her neck to eat and drink and has a hard time even bringing herself to her feet....it is that bad...just in a different way.
I am not meaning to sound snippy or anything..tone of voice is hard to portray when typing.

Glad to hear she is improving Bec!

She really took a beating, from what you describe, yet she is hanging in there with your good care. If wounds are deep she will be lucky not to need oral or injectible antibiotics but it sounds like so far, so good (it may be hard to tell on the surface...). Many many continued good wishes!

I have her on my lap right now as I type. She just had a nice long soak in the tub..I actually think she enjoyed it a little. She was drinking her bath water and totally relaxed as I held her up. I know she isn't out of the woods yet, but I am praying she makes it.

Bec, her pic sure is encouraging. That bright red face is a good sign. So glad things are going well so far. I will be thinking of her and hope for a speedy recovery.

Sorry about your girl.
I would go ahead with the asparin water and make sure that she stays warm. You can put her in a box with a heat pad under it on low so that she stays warm but only put it on one side of the bottom to allow her to move should it get to warm.

Good luck with her.

Today she seems to be a whole lot better..she is now trying to jump out of the box. The past 2 days she has really improved..she is eating and drinking..I still have to bring it up to her face because she doesn't extend her neck very far,but she eats a good amount! I took her outside for a visit and some sunshine. Now she is crazy woman. She is trying to get out. She is still wobbly and is still getting her balance, so she is far from going back out with everyone, but this is a definite improvement!

Thanks Milliestwo!!!!
