Dog attack

Just picked my girl up from the vet. The vet is starting her on Bayril 2x a day and Meloxicam 1x a day for 10 days and then if she’s not standing/progressing, we will do Xrays to check for fractures.

She’s still bright eyed, talking to me and eating great. So let’s just keep fingers crossed for healing over the next 10 days.

Alright just a quick little update on Nugget..

She’s still eating and drinking AMAZING.
She’s had two doses of Meloxicam and two doses of Baytril now.

Last night, when I was shifting her for bed time, she gripped my finger with her right foot ::happy dance:: that’s HUGE as those toes haven’t moved hardly at all since the attack. It really made my heart happy.

She’s really got a LOT of energy today and is trying to flap around from me but her right leg is still not working very well. I just hope with the antibiotics and the anti inflammatory she makes a full recovery.

Thank you to everyone for all of your advice, I’ve learned SO much from this site so I was ready when this happened and if it wasn’t for this site I probably would have panicked. So from the bottom of mine and nuggets hearts, thank you!

Baytril is a strange choice to me but just my personal opinion
Considering it was a dog attack, I’m guessing the vet figured we should make sure no infection spreads from the bite marks?

The Baytril is a whatever to me, she’s not laying eggs yet, so it effects no eggs for me. I definitely wanted an anti inflammatory so I’m glad she’s on the Meloxicam.
