dog attack

I live outside a small town in Indiana that's 25 miles from the county seat. If I called the county animal control about a dog in my yard they would ask if it's chasing my animals or is dangerous. If I say it is then the first thing they would ask is if I could take care of it (shoot it). If I can't then (sometime very much later) they might send a sheriffs deputy out to take care of it (probably shoot it). So, I keep my rifle in the garage with the bullet clip on a shelf next to the rifle case. I can have the rifle out of the case and the clip in the gun in less than a minute. If my neighbor's dog gets into my chickens, or chases my steers, the dog would just sort of "disappear".

There are "no slip" dog collars called martingales. They act like a choke but only close enough to keep them from slipping yet won't choke the dog to death like regular choke chains. They are cheap and at petedge.com as well as big pet stores. Get one for this dog.

You don't always need to shovel... Remember turtles need to eat too.
