I would like to think that responsible dog owners would do the right thing if their dog killed anyones chickens. I also realize that that is not always the case! But I don't think that poisoning a dog is the acceptable way to take care of the problem, and I though this is a very touchy subject, I do feel that the BYC members are more humane.

In-humane is not ALL HER chickens?? with an owner that doesn't care???

Lets get real, if the person was sorry and paid for damages and would keep the dog where it should be,,, thats a diffrent story.

I lost one of four big money Brittany Spaniels because he was an escape artist, shock collar, invisible fence, broken chains,, he didn't listen,,, and after a few months of peeing on the neighbors big money shrubs,,, he shot my dog.

I own big money dogs and chickens and I'll tell anyone a dog that tastes chicken blood will never quit, it has to be put down.

Yours is yours mine is mine till one messes with the other.

Dogs kill due to hunting instinct, not because they are cruel or vindictive, that is the difference. Any dog can be contained, and her neighbour's dog should be, but it is the owner's fault not the dog's. I have absolutely no idea what the cost of a dog has to do with the issue. If the dog continues to be a problem then by all means she should involve animal control, but torturing him is not the answer.

I'm surprised and quite disgusted that it is permitted to condone or propose acts of animal cruelty on this forum, if not for ethical reasons then for the simple fact that such abuse is illegal.
