Dog bit off ducks bill

In short my dog is jealous of my duck so when she came around me he bit her beak and about an inch or two of her top beak broke off and started bleeding its been about 30 minutes and the bleeding has stopped but she's got her beak tucked under her feathers so i could barely get a picture of it but I need help I don't know what to do and I cant find any vets open right now

I dont have ducks but maybe try and keep calling around and see what vets can do and do some research on duck Bill's to see what u can do. I hope she/he is okay

This is tragic, and extremely painful. Imagine one of your fingernails being ripped off.

A vet who specializes in waterfowl just gave me good news that she will survive but thank you guys too for helping

That’s good news and I hope she makes a full recovery!! But I would definitely get started training your dog too so this doesn’t happen again or worse.

I've tried but he just doesnt seem to listen so I'll try and keep him caged when she's around

How old is he? What kind of dog? There’s a lot of videos and articles online and on YouTube and stuff that might be able to help maybe or can you hire a trainer? Does he know obedience or basic commands? I would work on that first before bringing him near the duck or addressing the jealousy. Get that solid and teach a solid leave it first.

The dog is a 7 year old dachshund he is very obedient and knows a lot of basic and more advanced commands but whenever the duck is around it's like he forgets everything
