Your bantam chicks are TINY, and will be able to get out through that grate. You could wrap duct tape around the lower six inches of the door to keep them in for the first week or so. It does look too small; I've used the larger dog crates (retriever sized) but smaller will be more difficult to keep the temperature gradient needed for their comfort.
