They are very well behaved in the house. All we really have to do anymore is put the puppy gate up across the bathroom threshold, although I don't know why we bother. It's been months since either of them showed any interest in the litter box (in the bathroom).
It's really DH that's talked of joining their crates. I don't see anything wrong with the way things are now. When they go into their crates they lay down against the ends that are touching, so they're as close as they can be to each other anyhow.
