Wow that’s a amazing story!!!Last year my husband and I rescued 5-3 month old Australian Red Heelers from an Amish puppy mill. First off, we LOVE cattle dogs. They are stubborn, determined, energetic and did I mention stubborn? But they are also absolute delightful, loving, loyal and intelligent dogs.
We lost our first ACD a year ago this past Christmas to Degenerative Myelopathy and had been talking about getting another ACD when knowledge of these 5 popped up.
We found them in a pen where they had been given a dead goat and a rabbit to eat. I am dead serious here. These darling little heathens, no socialization, no shots, no nothin' were jumping up and down just soo happy to see us while standing on what was left of the goat kid. The gentleman in charge of them told me that they were 20$ apiece. 15 if we took two. I asked him how much for the whole lot and his jaw dropped. He said 25$, I had DH had the guy the money and we loaded our babies into the van and brought them home.
These dogs are delightfully smart, eager to please and so far their only true fault is that they HATE cats and have sent one of ours to the vets for stitches before we finally gave up trying to get them to get along and started working on keeping them apart.

The top picture is Varn, full name Varna. The second picture front to back is once again Varn, then behind him to the right, Roxie, behind her with the spot in the middle of her back is Sidney and in the very back is Bentley, Ben for short.
The last picture is Diesel with part of Buck, our 6 year old hound mix in the back..he and his sister Spotty Dog were dumped near our house as 8 week old pups. Sister Spotty is half Jack Russel Terrier and we think border collie. Buck is half hound and we think half border collie.
Yep, we have 7 dogs. The pups just turned a year old and we love them dearly. I told somebody the other day that when Dingo died, he left a hole in our hearts that was so big that it took 5 puppies to fill it....
I truly believe that rescue dogs know they are chosen and give back the love that you give to them ten fold....
