Dog - duck relationship

Ok, some development here...
When swimming, another hen laid flat on the water and the brown hen that likes the dog mounted her and she lasted way longer than both drakes so far. LOL Took quite some time.

And the same brown duck likes me too. Today she laid flat when I tried to shoo them away from the neighbor's lawn. I was even able to pat it, which she doesn't allow otherwise. On contrary, the 3 of them are extremely cautious and they won't even come to me if I offer them treats. They do not accept them from my hand. Yet.

I may have an option to get a drake. The only thing is, he's not domesticated at all, he's in a pen with all kinds of chickens and I'm afraid to bring him home. I havemy ducks walking around freely during the day and he might teach them a new trick to disappear. Walk away that is.. What do you think, will he adapt and stay with 3 hens that are already taught to stay around, or can it force his own will and take them with him? I'd guess he will be one vs. 3 and they will teach him what to do in his new environment... I hope...

Hello..My Duck Hens breed each other too.
When I got Casanova my Call Drake he lived on a pond with little human contact. He has never wandered off. He now lays at our feet and follows the Hens around.
I think your going to be fine..

Probably would be a good idea to pen him up for at least a week let him get use to his new home and let the girls and him get use to each other. especially if he can fly what breed is the drake.

Indian runner, just like the hens. They don't fly much.

True but he may get confused at first so I'd still give him a safe pen until he is accustom to his new home and new girls.
