dog eating poop

hello , might want to ask a vet about this. but my dog got giardia we think from eating under the bird feeder it seems wild birds carry it, i dont know about chickens but i discourage it even though now he should be immune, its not worth the horrible diareah sp? HE WAS REALLY SICK, i dont think it affected the birds, just a thought,

Our dogs also enjoy this treat. Our Vet says that because the poop has so much nitrogen, it would be better for their livers if they didnt eat it - we have 2 dogs and only 9 chickens, so it isnt a huge problem.

I have seen a supplement for dogs at the pet store that is supposed to help. I definitely want to try it . It absolutely disgusts me when my dog does this!
