This is new to me.There are funds set aside to recover damages for poultry and livestock killed by dogs.
This is Missouri's ...
This. Where I live, livestock are the ranchers’ livelihoods....
Out in the rural areas most people are well aware if their dog start running livestock they will be shot. It is an understanding that most of us grew up with. That's just the way it has always been and the way it should still be.
I don’t know about being part of the younger generation, but my cat and dog are my “furkids.” Because of that, I have a fence around my house to contain the dog; and the cat is indoor only. I can’t teach them people-manners like “don’t hang out at the neighbor’s house and make a nuisance of yourself,” so I have to use other means to make them neighborly. But the younger generations that are coming up seem to think their fur babies should be able to go wherever and do whatever they want.
Montana has something similar, but I think it’s restricted to livestock killed by wildlife such as wolves, bears or lions. This is new to me.
Well one would think if they loved their fur babies so damn much they would want to keep them home and protected.This. Where I live, livestock are the ranchers’ livelihoods.

Yes! In our valley, we are the only one that put our dog on a lead when she's outside and not right with someone, because she kind of looks like a coyote if you squint from a distance.Well one would think if they loved their fur babies so damn much they would want to keep them home and protected.
I just know there's a lot of people with animials that shouldn't even have animials.
The logic isn't much different than people who free-range their chickens. (And when the chickens cause trouble on someone else's property, the solution is the same: the owner should keep their animals on their own property!)Amazing how people are so willing to put a creature they love at a known danger because they don't feel like making a fence dog proof or even install leadlines
