Dog the Bounty Hunter

I want to dislike Dog & his show, but it keeps pulling me in.
I do like how they pray, anbd what their family values SEEM to be.

I just keep waiting for some part of the show to implode...

Or explode.

The cops involved don't make a profit.

I can take your picture and put it up on my site, and as long as I am not making a profit from your image, you have no recourse to sue me.

But if I took your picture, put it up on my site, and started charging people to view it or selling it, you could (and should) sue me.

I agree!!! Tonight I am watching him and Beth counseling a young woman they have in custody. They are such awesome and inspiring people. Great people come in all forms.

I think Beth is pretty too; but when she runs after the perps I am always scared she is going to knock herself out or at least give herself two black eyes!!

Just cause Im silly and I dont know much...
Why?

Ever see the commercials for that product, girls gone wild?

The gent that produces those has to get a signed release from each and every girl whose image he shows for profit.

Think Dog doesn't?

Then what about "America's Most Wanted?" They don't have the signatures of those guys and gals that are on the Most wanted list. I would imagine though, that Dog has a disclosure somewhere in that fine print that rolls so fast on these shows that all people/persons are being shown with their full consent.

I don't watch it anymore because I find it offensive that he (they all do) swear constantly then they pray together.

Something's wrong with that.

It's a gray area, and I don't pretend to understand all the nuances, but it was explained to me thus:

Dog directly makes a profit from other people's images, therefore he requires their consent, as they are essentially 'actors' in his show.

Cops and AMW do not make the profit directly from the images and in AMW's case the criminals don't even actually appear in the show. You will notice that in COPS, a lot of images of people's faces are blurred out. That's why.

Being a bail bondsman..when he bails them out...he probably has them sign a paper that gives him permission to use their image for his T.V. show if he ever has to come for them...if they break the bond...
