Dog thread!🐾

Not according to most of the posters in this thread.
I presume Fluffy is talking about the register for mixed breeds so they can enter AKC sports. Fanta is now KC registered that doesn’t make her purebred
Thats a little harsh......
It was extremely rude and uncalled for
Can't seem to find them in the FCI. I'm betting they're recognised in the UK
Probably notšŸ˜† the KC lacks a lot of breeds
Some dogs never do it, so it's not an age thing. I see it more as a management thing.

I think the most important thing you can do is work to keep the puppy calm and build up her confidence. One thing that will help is being careful what tone of voice you use. Instead of a high-pitched, squeaky voice, pitch your voice lower and speak softly. Also avoid direct eye contact and don't "hype" the puppy into a frenzy. Sit down and let the puppy approach you at her own pace. Chuck her gently under the chin rather than patting (thumping!) on the head. Stroke gently from front to back rather than scrubbing and thumping the dog on the ribs. Everything should be calculated to keep the puppy calm and quiet. I've given this advice to many clients with piddling puppies, and have received positive feedback that these techniques work wonders. Caveat: everyone in the family, and anyone who handles the puppy, must do these things. Given time, the puppy develops confidence and the piddling stops. Basically, the puppy is just over-stimulated, overwhelmed, and loses control. Good luck!
Pretty sure it is age for her, the more bladder control she gets the better its getting . We don’t excite her in anyway when greeting her, she runs up to us once she is sitting nicely which doesn’t take long, bend down and touch her. She has stopped doing it for me

Exactly. Don't worry about it. Just checked the KC, and you are indeed correct. It seems like its only in Australia for now, but a really nice breed regardless!

Doesn't surprise me, even within Aus they're not "common". 10 years ago when I got my first (Misty) it was a big thing for there to be another Tentie entered in any of the local shows, now 8 or more isn't uncommon (when I put it like that the numbers still sound kinda pitiful šŸ˜…).

That's how it was with harlequin rabbits when I was in 4H. For years I competed against myself before another person bought some from me and entered them. The last year I was in it, there were 4 or 5 kids with them

keeping a low coi most be hard!

I don't think there's been a breeding yet. She's bring much more cautious because a really stellar male (who I assume she was planning on breeding) passed away suddenly. But she's definitely very considerate with her breedings, she's an all-around amazing breeder
