Unfortunately a lot of rescues label very obvious pit mixes as lab mixes now to make them more adoptable. So that could be why. I was told mine was āLab/Boxerā and heās VERY obviously a pit mix and the DNA test concurs. He does have some Boxer but only a little bit. Mostly pit/lab/hound. People have thought heās pure pit.Exactly. Pit bulls, dobermans, etc, too. I actually met someone in a store and they had this adorable pit mix puppy. I went over and was talking with them and they told me he was a lab mix. I'm sure he had lab in him, but that puppy screamed pit! I almost told them that I love pits, but I didn't want to make them uncomfortable.
