Dog thread!🐾

Exactly! And an accident doesn’t mean you are irresponsible!

I have all so heard multiple different ways people separate their intact dogs and then heard of those ways not working for other people
I still do not know how Misty ended up pregnant that time

One of the other litters, male dog was in a run (that he had been in many time before and no escape etc.) and the girl was just out running the property. Then she decides to break into the run! Forced entry through a hole she created, happened in a very short period of time too.

:barnie I do not like most of the dog community! its great that you have never had a accident litter, wonderful! But that doesn’t mean accidents can’t happen! Spay abortions don’t come with no issues and risks:th

how can you compare cosmetic cropping/docking to neutering!?
Denver was from a accidental litter. Nothing was planned. The lady seperated her Golden(Denvers mom)and then her other dog a intacted male.
Not even thinking about the neighbors intact golden, so when she put her pup outside well.

Accidents dont mean you are irresponsible. Although many think that.
I dont plan on breeding Denver because of her allergies/other reasons but i also dont plan on spaying her early just because i have a male dog.
I hope the seperation barriers im setting up are going to work. Luckily one of us is always watching them.

A bit late on the topic (only checked BYC once yesterday  ) but yeah, that breeder doesn't sound ethical. Just the early neutering is enough to make me cringe. They obviously don't want competition. My foxy is over 2 years and still not neutered, he's still not mature. And if I do have him done, it'll be a vasectomy so his hormones don't go wonko.

And what's up with the $3500 price??!!! Is this normal?? These aren't purebred dogs that are registered. I'd expect that for a good quality purebred, not a mixed breed!

Damn, I could buy myself sooooooooo many Muscovy for that price, imported from overseas! OR, get all the critters and their housing for my complete homestead.

I have decided not to spay mine, I might consider it again once they are over 6 years

My vet pushed it too. I didn’t listen to him.
We are going to be switching vets anyway. The vet we are going to switch to looks at the health/welbeing of the animal. And wont push anything. A friend of ours has gone there for years and they have never pushed a thing. They do reccomend stuff.
Our vet litterally has signs all around the office now saying to remember to spaynor neuter and there is only one person there that likes to help us all the others are not very friendly.

That’s good and oh wow

My vet did not, and I love her for it. Being on hormone replacement therapy, I know how important they are. How we can subject our pets to all the problems associated with removing these hormones I have no idea...

She also doesn't agree with all this over-vaccination, or certain vaccines which are unfortunately required by law.
