Yes and it’s super scary!!!!
I'm reading it's just a virulent strain of kennel cough and the news is making it sound worse than it is. They say antibiotics don't work, but antibiotics don't work on kennel cough. It's a virus like a cold. I was worried initially, but now I'm being more practical and not being fearful. My dogs had kennel cough once and it was a nightmare. They all eventually recovered. Some got antibiotics, some didn't. Didn't seem to make a difference. I think stay away from crowds, and maybe get the bordetella vaccine or booster it.

Hmm interesting. I hadn’t read that. Thanks! He definitely needs his bordatella booster, it was due in October, so I think I’ll get that for him ASAP. Otherwise we don’t really go near other dogs anyway except the field but the path hasn’t been mowed and I’ve been tired so we haven’t gone there in a while. We will avoid it now anyway. Tons of dogs there. Like a dog park but it’s for humans too. A giant field, woods, and small beach. Sometimes no dogs sometimes 10, 15, 20 on weekends. I’m just worried about the turns to pneumonia part. He had kennel cough once from the field and that was hard enough.
