Dog thread!🐾

Well, the Boston terrier club of America says "they will languish without human contact". Of course this can be interpreted in many ways, but the French bulldog club of America just leaves it at "they are a companion breed". To me it seems that one can deal with absence much better than the other
I would argue Frenchies are the same if not more so. They just don’t say that. Labs and Goldens too technically but most dogs are fine if trained and socialized properly and from a breeder that doesn’t have those issues with their dogs.

Do what I did and get the Boston French bulldog mixes. I have 4. All have been quite healthy and they are the most perfect dog. Mine all have different percentage of Boston to bulldog. My oldest will be 10 this coming year. I might be biased, but to me they are the perfect dogs.

That is mentioned a lot. I don't think that's to say they have extreme separation anxiety. Heck, Shiba inu are "one man dogs", but they don't go nuts while they're alone
True but I’m just saying I don’t think one is more anxious than the other. I think they’re both about the same. And people exaggerate stuff a lot too. It depends on the dog.

They get along great.

My older one. Tilly will be 10 this year. She's gotten a bit frosty on the face. She 50/50.

Shorty. She's 3/4 Boston 1/4 French. She's my bouncy happy girl. Pepper the Aussie on the background.

Murphy is 3/4 French 1/4 Boston. She will always be the baby. She's a funny girl.

Biscuit, the true baby. She's 9 months. She's almost all bulldog. She's got the bulldog demeanor, and a tiny bit of hulk rage we have been working on, and she's better. She sounds like a crazy beagle when she barks. She's a good kid. I don't like sharing my pictures too often because I don't need them showing up on Google, so these will probably be deleted after a bit.

Yeah, I've always gotten that impression from what I've read about Frenchies. But I've never owned one so what do I know? And I don't want one because of their health issues, exercise intolerance, and talkativeness.
I wouldn't own a full frenchie either. Even the health problems with the full Boston's scare me. They seem either very healthy, or not. But I love them enough I might have one some day.

Yeah same about the impression. But well bred, there shouldn’t be health issues or at least not as many. And as for exercise intolerance… well…

And Bostons don’t talk? Interesting. I thought most bull breeds did. At least pit bulls do 🤣
