I wish sometimes i could tell people to take care of their dogs or get them under control......

Both of my dogs who I adopted as older puppies are surprisingly great with their weekly nail trimmings. I give a treat after each foot and use a lightbox in a dark room to see and trim close to the quick. Tooth brushing is quite a bit more difficult, especially with the Boston. I can't seem to reach all her tiny teeth in her tiny mouth and she doesn't like it either. I really don't know if what I'm doing is helping at all. She has quite a bit of tartar already. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have been trying to do co-operative care, so far I haven’t been very good at actually working on it . It seems to work really well with dogs that don’t like being handled

I can do Pepsi’s nail while she is eating treats
can’t do Pikelets because she can’t sit still
Fanta and Twiggy won’t let me touch their feet. I would not be surprised if Twiggy bit me if I push it too much and her nails really need doing

Most of the dogs wear down their nails so don’t really need them trimmed their teeth are clean except for Twiggy’s being slightly dirty, so I am trying plague off seaweed supplement

Fanta has very cracked pads, which might have something to do with why she hates me touching them. she actually cut her pad awhile ago, the cut was in one of the cracks so I don’t know if she cut it on something or her pad cracked too much

I need to look into musher’s secret more, it seems like it might help

I just do it. I don't give them an option. I'm not afraid that anyone will bite, so I don't hesitate or even ask. The more you do it the easier it gets. Most dogs don't start to get tarter until they are older than 6. So getting the routine established helps in the long run.

Tucker chews on a bone constantly, i dont allow it all day, but he chews through a buffalo bone in a week.

Yeah Brew doesn’t chew all day either, he sleeps a lot, but he will pull one out and chew a little bit in the morning or at night.
