Dog thread!🐾

That's good! There are only two men at our vet and it's nice because how fearful Remy is of most men.

I did not like the vet we went to with our previous dog, they were scared of him and acted all nervous around him because he was a 95 lb German Shepherd. and the vet guy would come in being loud and not even let Thorsten meet him before he started cornering him and poking at him. Thorsten growled because he was a vocal dog and was nervous so they immediately shoved a muzzle on him and from then on made us sedate him before he went in for check ups. It was so frustrating because if they would just give a chance to warm up to them and wouldn't loom over him they probably would have had to do any of that.
Thats how our old vet acts because of Tucker. Tucker has to warm up to people then he is fine happy tail and trying to lick everyone. But they didnt give him a chance.
Then after the vet did what they did last time i had them there for vaccinations i wont go back.

Im sorry you dealt with this. Sometimes i wonder why barely anyone thats a vet seems to actually understand animals.

What did they do? And I know right? Like you went through veterinary school did you learn nothing about dog behavior?

Tucker was 10 weeks old when we got him and he was a very wiggly pup. While the vet went to give him a shot and he poked from one side of skin out the other then decided to give him another full dose. Tucker was sick for a few days.

And exactly. I plan on going to college to be a vet. But im atleast going to let the dog warm up to me before putting a muzzle on it if thats even needed

Enjoying a bit of street watching.

My Gracie never had a problem at the vet until he got a new tech that was like that, a loud an big young man that just kind of slammed her around on the table. She was 13, going blind and deaf and arthritic. After that she would shake like a leaf going in, and was super tense her last visit. I hated it, there was no need for any of that. He ruined her.

A-hole! My Weim girl got a similar treatment from a vet at 15yrs. I never went back, and looking back, I should have walked out without paying, like I would do today. My two current dogs have only been to a vet for injuries. The brown one - Hodge - is a leaper and I think he strained himself leaping up a sand bank. The vet (a new one I go to) is lovely with him and he has recovered nicely.
