Dog thread!🐾

My Gracie never had a problem at the vet until he got a new tech that was like that, a loud a big young man that just kind of slammed her around on the table. She was 13, going blind and deaf and arthritic. After that she would shake like a leaf going in, and was super tense her last visit. I hated it, there was no need for any of that. He ruined her.
That’s so sad 😭

My dad and his fiancĆ©e also sent me low cost vets and there’s one kinda near me but the reviews are mixed on that one. Most are amazing but the ones that aren’t are really concerning LOL

Just how concerning are we talking? Many many years ago a vet said that my grandfather's dog had ticks, when he actually had cancer. Rumours are that the same vet once performed a C-section on a bitch, and he forgot a puppy inside of her, which caused her death

Mistreating/being a bit rough with a dog/yelling after they didn’t introduce themselves to either dog or owners so that’s on them as well as giving an extra vaccine they didn’t agree too. Plus some issues with spays.

I have heard of fear-free vets, who will apparently spend a lot of time make sure the dogs are as comfortable as possible. I don’t know where or in what areas they are in though
Our vet when they were new tried something like that but it appears they have given up. I think it takes too much of their time and they are getting busier and busier. And it didn't work out too well because they told ME to hold my dog while they gave vaccines and my dog almost bit the vet tech when she gave the shot because I wasn't holding correctly...😬

thats not goodšŸ˜…

That’s interesting to me because normally I hold the animal for the vet, if they need to be held

Yeeah...it was my first time...🤣 Maybe they let other people who do it correctly hold their own dogs. Now they have more staff and they hold both my dogs and muzzle Luna. How much better is it for the owner to hold their dogs during and exam anyway? It seems they would hate me more. šŸ˜†
