Dog thread!🐾

Willows been licking and slightly favoring one foot, I found a cyst/mole looking thing on her webbing so I'm assuming it's that. She has an appointment tomorrow though. I hope Denver is ok and it's nothing serious!
I hope Willow is ok

I havent found anything on Denver, ive trimmed her fur in between her pads shorter than normal to check if anything was there. There was nothing.
Ive brushed her and made sure there are no ticks.

Yikes. That can't be good for their tummies. Don't the antibiotics stop working if they're used too much?
My older dogs can no longer tolerate the doxycycline. They take amoxicillin now. The one older one does take a doxycycline low dose maintenance dose between flair ups. She has anaplasmosis which seems much harder to clear from their system.

Thankfully the doxy continues to work. On average I treat each dog 2-3 times a year. I give them a probiotic when they are done. We've been battling tick diseases here for about 25 years now. I've become a amateur expert. I tried the vaccine. It made the dogs more painful during flair ups. Flea and tick products aren't guaranteed and I keep breeds sensitive to the chemicals, so we prefer to just treat as necessary. If caught early and treated dogs do okay.

Plus flea and tick stuff is so expensive! The worm prevention too. We’re having to switch to topical flea and tick because the chewable is just too expensive now. Topical is still expensive but less so. Like half the price.
