Dog thread!🐾

Has anyone here had to have their dog have Cytopoint injections or have medication for allergies?
Denver keeps getting hotspots and we know its environmental now, so we have 3 options, to continue letting her get them and treating them, doing Cytopoint injections or doing daily medication.
My grandad's dog used to get hotspots really bad. I don't remember all of what they did, but I do know he was on a low dose of Benadryl everyday. Also there's this stuff called Banixx that a friend of mine uses for her dog, we use it on our goats, but I think she said it helps her dog, too.

Thanks! We do give a benedryl when her hotspots act up, she also gets benedryl cream put on the hotpsots once the benedryl medicine wears off. Ive never heard of Banixx ill look into it!

I think the daily dose for Benadryl was 1 pill once a day. I think Ringo was 70-ish pounds, but I could be wrong.

Since this thread is for posting dog pics... This is Ringo:

He was a GSD/Anatolian mix. He didn't act like it, though. He was an absolute chicken and he adored every person that crossed his path. 😂 🥰

My brother's dog gets monthly cytopoint injections.
I've had a few of the others have red skin on their feet. We tried some meds that didn't really have an effect, Biopsy says it's environmental or dietary. I've been working on the diet side, not sure what to do if it's the environment. It's not like we can get rid of the lawn...

Denver continuously is getting hotpsots she also has red skin inbetween her paw pads. We think its environmental and so does the vet. She has been on only dog food for a little over a week and a half. Before this one appeared.
If its environmental all you cand do it cytopoint or meds.

Yeah, technically I do know what to do if it's environmental. Brother's dog is on cytopoint because she is allergic to multiple grasses, multiple trees, etc. We like to say she allergic to life

To get a definite answer we'd have to do blood tests...
It's flared up atm so I suspect it has a fair amount to do with wet grass, my other suspicion is maybe they're allergic to the oak tree cause they've been spending a decent amount of time walking through the fallen leaves.

I couldn't imagine myself being allergic to that many things. My dad is and its hard for him.

My vet said the blood test would run us over 200 dollars.
