Does anyone have a trick for ear mites? I’m loosing my mind. It’s been months and nothing I’m doing is helping. I’ve gotten prescriptions from the vet for my dog and cats, but they aren’t doing anything. It’s so frustrating and I feel awful. My dog doesn’t seem like they bother him, but the cats act like they are miserable.

Are they on a parasite preventative such as Bravecto?

The cats were on bravecto when the problem showed up. Bravecto does not treat ear mites, and the only reason they were on that was because one of the cats was nursing (bravecto is one of the only flea meds ok for pregnant/nursing cats) I started giving them Advantage Multi as soon as the kittens were weened. Advantage multi does treat ear mites and is supposed to be a really good product, so I’m very confused as to why it is not working. My dog is also on advantage multi, but the dog version does not treat ear mites, so I got an ear mite prescription from the vet (otomite plus).

Bravecto only treats fleas. Except for bravecto plus which also treats intestinal worms (don’t remember if it treats ear mites too) I used to work at a vet clinic

That’s good! Our vet does not have Bravecto plus though. I guess I could find it somewhere else. I’m just very surprised the advantage multi is not working.

Glad I could help. I've never dealt with ear mites myself, but I know that parasites can become resistant to the ingredients in these kind of meds. I hope you can get them under control and help your kitties feel better!

Yes we have nexgard, but I am not sure that it treats ear mites. We didn't sell it at the vet that I worked at, so I'm not familiar with it. I can look into it!
