Dog thread!🐾

I had to take four of the dogs to the vet today :th Went surprisingly well!
Winnie was so nervous she basically froze up on the table, almost a stack 😂 Vet turned around and said she looked like a show dog 😝
Misty passed her physical exam perfectly, which considering she's 11 is great 😊 Would've liked her bloodwork done again this year but Wizard's vet bill along with the usual yearly costs is plenty right now 🥲

The biggest thing ive learned about reactivity well training Tucker is slow is best and fun is best. You may have to stay in your own yard for weeks, not doing walks, I dont walk during the day i learned a few weeks ago our walks are better at night. It also takes a long time to see a change. He wanted to play with another dog a few days ago. And he met a new person not out of his kennel. But its the biggest improvement we have ever had. Since 7 -10 months when he was first came at by a large dog his reactivity had gotten worse and worse, he nipped at someone once who he knew. And thats when i stopped everything i was pushing. I let our training go how he wanted and i wanted. He chose where he wanted to walk. When training he was more focused me not structuring it every day. But his reactivity had strengthened our bond more than ever. By taking it slow, reteaching basic commands multiple times, and making sure every set back didnt make me worse as well. We have gotten through the hardest part of owning a reactive dog. He may not know tons of fancy tricks. He may not be my service dog and he may not ever step a paw into certain places. He may never be the same puppy he was or i wanted. But he is everything i needed. It just took time.

I have to walk Brew again when I get home which should be any second here. LOL But that part is really no different than any other day. I’ve been walking twice a day lately. It’s just the 6am wake up that’s different LOL even though today I got up at 6:23 🤣🙈 tomorrow I’m not doing that. Tomorrow I’m getting up at 6 on the dot or even earlier if I wake up earlier. I also have to walk him around the yard later tonight to potty because they took part of the fence down.

Brew was desperate to go out again, I think he was just bored or saw a critter or something, but he wouldn’t get away from the door and was sassing me/back talking me 🤣 and I wasn’t doing anything anyways so I put his e-collar on and obliged lol we’re now outside sniffing all the upturned brush and changes that happened today 🤣🤣🤣
