If you have opossum than there's a risk of leptospirosis. All it take is dogs drinking from a puddle an opossum urinated in or even walked through. I personally vaccinate for it.

Also rhe only place my dogs can go swimming is at a dog beach i go when no other dogs are but there is olenty of wildlife. Mine have the vaccine for that reason

We have both here. For me I think rats, chipmunks, squirrels, etc. are more commonAre opossums more a risk than rats there? It's the rats here...

If you dont have those animals near i guess it wouldnt be needed though
